The Best of 2015!

Hey guys! I don't know about all y'all, but 2015 has been such an exhausting and testing year. Physically and emotionally. I've also learned a great deal about myself, where I'm going, what I want from life. I'm wiser, and better for it, no matter how much shit was thrown my way this year. I hope 2016 has more adventures and opportunities rapping at my door. I've learned I'm stronger than I thought, I can handle anything that comes my way. You've got to take the good with the bad! Always find the good in the bad, build yourself up, and keep fighting. I'll be talking about what were my favourites in 2015, including music, make-up products and moments!

Childhood favourite Bob Ross. <3

Music
Placebo - Placebo (album)
I have become so obsessed with Placebo this year, I have to choose albums, not just a few songs. I really love their self titled debut album. My favourites from this album are: Bruise Pristine, Lady of the Flowers, Nancy Boy, Teenage Angst and 36 Degrees.

Placebo - Meds (album)
Released in 2006, Meds is probably one of the most recognised Placebo song. Meds is such a wonderful album, I love it so much! My favourites from Meds are: Drag, Meds, Post Blue, Song To Say Goodbye (listen to it, right now!) and Space Monkey.

Born Slippy - Underworld

A brilliant blast from the past!

Dead - My Chemical Romance

Fifteen year old emo Kimi's band! I have really gotten back into My Chemical Romance back in the day. Powerful music with loads of heart. <3

I Never Told You What I Do For A Living - My Chemical Romance

Mama - My Chemical Romance

Frail Limb Nursery/Purity - Slipknot

From their self titled Slipknot album. Frail Limb Nursery is a 48 second intro to the following song Purity. Fantastic song! Maggot fo' life.

Custer - Slipknot

My personal favourite off their newest album, .5 The Gray Chapter! Named for the wonderful and late Paul Gray.

Smack My Bitch Up - The Prodigy

Top song to listen to before going out on the lash! Named 'One of the most controversial videos' for its depictions of heavy drinking, drugs, violence, and a full sex scene. Smack My Bitch Up was only shown on MTV post midnight with a warning. Worth a watch (and a listen), if not for the big twist at the end of the video!

Moments!

Seeing Slipknot live
I write more about seeing Slipknot live here, if you want to check it out! It was, without a doubt, the best night of my life! Slipknot has been my favourite band since I was 15, and seeing them live was on the bucket list for a long time! When you build up an experience in your mind so much, most of the time, it doesn't live up to your expectations. Not in this case. It was so amazing, and better than I could have ever imagined! I was right in the front row for alot of it. The atmosphere was one of a kind. Korn was the support act, they were also fantastic and got the crowd pumped! Best night, ever!

Amsterdam
My boyfriend turned 21 this year, and we went to the land of tulips, windmills and debauchery to celebrate! Which I wrote about in depth here. We had the time of our lives! Amsterdam is a wonderful, free, liberating and beautiful city with so much charm. We got to experience the many different aspects of the city, from the stunning, the historical and the sexual. I would go back in a heartbeat. The highlights of Amsterdam from me was the Anne Frank House, where I wanted to visit since I was eight or nine, the cocktail cruise around the city, the markets, the sex museum and Rijksmuseum!

Ireland Vote Yes!
I've written more about the biggest issue this year concerning the Irish people here. On the 22nd on May, record numbers of Irish people got out and rocked the vote for Same Sex marriage, particularly the younger Irish people. The months of campaigning and debating led to this day. Ireland was on the edge of its seat, waiting for the result. On the 22nd of May, Ireland voted an overwhelming Yes to same sex marriage, 62% to 38%! It was a wonderful, beautiful day of love, change and celebration! It's also fantastic to see that the same passion and fight is carried on to fight other issues, such as repealing the 8th amendment!

Working at a bakery
If you've read my blog long enough or follow me on social media, you'll know my passion for baking. It's my life, my love. I dream, eat and breathe all thing baking. Literally dreaming about assembling a cake and staying up into the wee hours, when inspiration strikes. This year, I finally thought I got a chance to shine when I got a job at a local bakery. I learned so much there. It was a huge learning experience. Though, to say I disliked where I worked. was putting it mildly. I learned, baking is in fact, what I was born to do, I'm good at it. I learned I can work well in a team, though I work best solo. Though I never got credit for my work or so much as a thanks working at Hell Inc. I knew I was good at my job, and as long as I knew it, that was good enough for me!

Irish Blogger Conference 2015
I wrote more in depth about the Irish Blogger Conference earlier this year here. The Irish Blogger Conference this year was on the 30th of May at the Radisson Blu hotel in Dublin. I had such a wonderful day, meeting other bloggers and connecting with brands. There was so much positivity in the room and empowerment. I learned alot listening to speakers such as Sonya Lennon, Timi Ogunyemi, Darragh Doyle, Orla McDonagh, Rob Lipsett, and Alison Canavan. I couldn't believe how much hard work went into this huge event, all down to Emma and Fiona from Cool Events. I can't wait for 2016's Irish Blogger Conference!

New Tattoo!
Ending on a short and fun note, in April I got a tattoo I wanted for years! For years I wanted a matching sun and moon tattoo, but I decided to combine the two for a wonderful design! I am in love with it and it's one of my favourite tattoos! I just adore the colours and the sun's expression.

And that concludes this year's Best Of post! Tell me, what your highlights of 2015? What do you hope for 2016? Let me know below!
Thank you all for reading, and have a Happy New Year!

Mermaids VS Unicorns palette!

Hey guys! How are you all doing? How is your Christmas going? I hope you are all having a wonderful, happy and peaceful Christmas filled with family, friends, food and presents! Today, I'll be talking about the Mermaids VS Unicorns eyeshadow palette from Make-Up Revolution. I was so delighted to see a chemist in my crappy little town started to sell Make-Up Revolution products! Albeit, a small stall, I'm hoping they'll expand over time. I had to pick up the Mermaids VS Unicorns eyeshadow palette. I love this palette because of it's longevity, high quality pigmentation and vibrant, versatile shades. I think if I can get along and work well with this palette, I could justify spending on the Urban Decay Spectrum palette, so let's get into it!

Having been so impressed with their Iconic 3 palette, a wonderful palette, I knew I would be equally as impressed with the Mermaids VS Unicorns palette. For the price that I paid for this palette, you would expect the shadows to be chalky and cheap feeling. The packaging is pretty standard, in a plastic black case with a transparent window.

The shades in the Mermaids VS Unicorns palette are stunning, and wonderful to play around with for a fun and different look, if you're fed up with rocking a nude/copper shade (Which we all are from time to time, let's be honest). The shades ranges from sea inspired greens and blues, to darker pink and purple shades, with a dark black glittery shade at the end. The texture of these shadows are so soft and buttery. The shadow sizes are so generous aswell. There are seven shadows with a shimmer finish, and five with a glitter finish. There is more fallout with this palette than I would like, though! I feel that this palette can work day to night but I see it being used more in a night time look. They are wonderful shadows to use on the waterline as an eyeliner.

The colour payoff with the Mermaids VS Unicorns palette is so fantastic! They are highly pigmented shadows and they are so easily blended, making them easy to work with. All together, it is such a fun palette to use and I really recommend it if you want to step out of your comfort zone. If you're contemplating the Urban Decay Spectrum palette, but don't feel like dropping the money just yet, give Mermaids VS Unicorns a whirl!
The Mermaids VS Unicorns palette costs €5.15. With the high quality shadows, the shadow sizes and the pigmentations, you really get more than what you pay for! It truly is a wonderful palette and fun to experiment and play around with. I give it 9/10.
Have you tried the Mermaids VS Unicorns palette yet? What were your thoughts? Let me know below!

Clinique Superprimer

Hi guys! How are you all doing today? Today, I'll be talking about my first ever Clinique product. I could never justify the price of the Clinique products I wanted, but the week I bought it, I got a lovely bonus in my wage. Anyway, Benefit's POREfessional was my Holy Grail high end primer. However, I am strictly against testing on animals in any way. Since reading this, I have stopped using Benefit products, which meant giving up my beloved POREfessional. After some research on what primers would I get on best with, I settled on the Clinique Superprimer.

The Superprimer range has a variety of primers to choose from to tackle certain skin woes, such as redness, sallowness, dullness and discolouration. I picked up the Superprimer for redness, as my skin is woefully typically Irish in complexion. The packaging is really nice, practical and hygienic, easy to pop into your bag and go. The texture of the Clinique Superprimer is lightweight and oil free, great for my combination-oily skin. It is also unscented. It gives a smooth, matte and shine free finish. I apply this with my fingers, over moisturiser, under foundation for a clean, smooth and fresh base. It feels lovely on the skin.

I think this Superprimer does what it says on the tin. It corrected my redness when I applied it. It kept my redness at bay all day to night and worked wonderfully! It enhanced the rest of my make-up, and made my make-up last day. I love the Clinique Superprimer alot, but I didn't fall in love with it so much, in the same way I loved Benefit's POREfessional. The Clinique Superprimer costs €28 for 30ml, which I do feel is very steep, considering I didn't fall head over heels for Superprimer. I give it 9/10.
Have you tried any of the Clinique Superprimers yet? What were your thoughts? Let me know below! Also tell me what your favourite high end primer is!

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

Hey guys! How are you all doing today? Today, I'll be talking about the Solstice highlighting palette from Sleek, a truly wonderful little palette. When the Solstice palette first came out, I scrolled past it online a few times, genuinely assuming it was another wonderful Hourglass palette I've always lusted after, but would never buy for myself. Shock and awe when  I find out it's a Sleek palette! It just looks so luxurious and fancy, and beautiful! First of all, the packaging. Oh my, it's so so stunning, with a really decent sized mirror. The Solstice palette includes four highlighters, big pans, plenty of product. There are two baked highlighters, one shimmer highlighter, and a cream highlighter.

Using my Real Techniques contour brush, I use Ecliptic on my cupid's bow and under my eyebrows. I use Hemisphere, my favourite, on my cheekbones and down my nose. I use Subsolar on my cheekbones. I use Equinox to add warmth to my complexion, I also use it on my collarbones and my shoulders. I adore this palette so so much! I think it's a wonderful product, and the highlighters are really great quality. Each highlighter is silky, velvety smooth, easy to blend and they highlight so well, without being harsh. They add radiance and a healthy look, for a fabulous pick me up. Which it does for me, as my skin tends to get quite dull during the Winter. It lasts all day on the skin. I think the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette is a fantastic dupe for the Ambient Lighting palette!
The Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette costs €13.49, and is worth every single penny! I give it 10/10.

(L-R: Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar, Equinox)

The Travel Minis

Hey guys! How are you all doing today? I went to Boots last week, and I picked up three travel minis from the Boots 3 for 2 range. I love the travel minis at Boots, there's so much variety and you can try out different products, without committing to the full sized products. I'll be picking up more from the 3 for 2 travel mini's range, before I go to Bruges in January, they'll really come in handy! I picked up Umberto Giannini's Pure Beauty shampoo, OGX Argan Oil conditioner, and Ted Baker's Pink body spray.

Umberto Giannini Pure Beauty shampoo-
I loved the Umberto Giannini mask that matches the Pure Beauty range. However, I found nothing special about this shampoo at all. It lathers up nicely, but I felt this shampoo made my hair flat and lank and slightly greasy. The scent is lovely, and it might work better for other hair types, but I just didn't get along with this shampoo at all. I wouldn't buy it again.

OGX Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner-
I really loved the OGX Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner! I bought the full bottle of this conditioner before, so I knew I would love it. The scent of this conditioner is so amazing and sweet smelling. This conditioner made my hair so glossy, sleek and healthy looking. It made my hair look shiny and my ends healthier. The OGX conditioner had Vitamin E and antioxidants added. It protects against UV damage and heat damage. I would buy it again and again. 10/10.

Ted Baker Pink body spray-
I love the packaging of this body spray so much, it's so pretty! The scent is sweet, light and subtle. It doesn't last too long, but it is a lovely pick me up and it's refreshing. The scent is sweet grapefruit, mandarin, mango, with neroli and jasmine. The base scents are patchouli, sandalwood and musk. I love this body spray alot. It's cheap, chic, smells amazing and fits in any bag!

They are the little travel minis I've recently picked up! I will definitely be picking up more from the 3 for 2 travel minis in time for Bruges! :)

The Holy Grails: 5 Constant Repurchases

Hey guys! How are you all doing today? I thought I would show you guys five, wonderful products, make up and skincare I repurchase time and time again. If I run out of any of these, I have to run out and repurchase ASAP, I love them that much. Tried, tested, time and time again. These five Holy Grail products haven't failed me yet!

Garnier Micellar Water
I love this stuff so much. It removes every trace of make-up, even the heavy stuff. It feels refreshing and comfortable on the skin. There's no fragrance and it's wonderful for sensitive skin as it is hypoallergenic. I use this on a cotton pad and gently swipe it all over my face to remove make-up as a precleanse. For a big 400ml bottle, the Garnier Micellar water only costs €4.85

Urban Decay All Nighter Make-Up Setting Spray
The Urban Decay Make-Up Setting Spray is without a doubt, the best product ever! I can't sing its praises enough! I've tested it through work, exercise, a busy day in work, in the heat and in the rain. A few spritzes of this on my face, my make-up does.not.budge. From morning into the wee hours. I've even got my mam hooked! I couldn't be without this amazing spray! €12.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation
For me, this foundation hits all the boxes! I would describe it as medium coverage. It does a great job of evening out my skin tone, hiding my freckles and any blemishes. It's not cakey at all and it lets my skin breathe. It has SPF 15 and matches my skin tone to a T in the shade Ivory Rose. It's long lasting, and I  just get on really well with this foundation. €13.99.

Max Factor Facefinity Primer
I bought this primer at the start of the year and it was love at first use. Its texture is quite similar to a moisturisers. It's hydrating, making my skin feel so smooth, it is the perfect base for make-up, or to use it on its own. This primer will get you through morning to night! It keeps my oily patches at bay. It sinks in quickly and has added SPF 20. €14.99.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil
My skin just loves the Trilogy Rosehip Oil! I have combination to oily skin, with scars on my chin from stress related breakouts. I use this two ways: Once a week as an overnight 'mask' and every night on my chin. When I use it all over, my skin is glowing, hydrated, brighter, and generally improved in appearance. It has reduced the redness and scars on my chin. It;s great from scars, stretchmarks, discolouration, dehydrated and ageing skin. A fantastic all round product to have in your skincare drawer. €19.95.

Those are my five products that I couldn't be without! What are yours? Let me know below!

Bourjois Colourband eye pencil

Hey guys, how are you all doing on this wonderful Saturday? We're putting up our Christmas tree today, and I won't lie, but I'm starting to get excited! :D Today, I'll be talking about the Bourjois Colourband eye pencil, a 2 in 1 product that can be used as a shadow, a liner, or both. The Bourjois Colourband pencil comes in six different shades, I decided to pick it up in Rose Fauviste, a pink- rose gold shade, that I was determined to have, instead of going for the usual browns and bronze shades.

I want to buy this again in Beige Minimal, the gold version. I really love using this as both a shadow and an eye liner. I wasn't too sure how I would get on with it, as I'm not a big under eye liner person, but this shade suited me well as both a shadow and an eye liner. I would describe the finish of this eye pencil as metallic with a shimmer. It has a really lovely, creamy and soft texture which makes it so easy to apply as it just glides right on. It's a subtle shadow, but it can be built upon as desired. On both the eyelids and the waterline, the staying power is around four hours. It fades easily, a big con of the Bourjois Colourband eye pencils. I assume it's because it's a cream based pencil as opposed to a powder shadow. However, it doesn't crease on the eyelid.

It's really easy to remove at the end of the day with a cotton pad soaked in micellar water. I love how versatile this eye pencil can be! It works wonderfully for daytime, and it would suit aa nighttime look. I even wear it to work where I can't wear alot of make-up! It blends easily with other eyeshadows. The packaging is cute, but I would have preferred a twist up pencil instead of a pencil that needs to be pared. Hassle of that.

The Bourjois Colourband eye pencil costs €7.99 each, and I give them 8/10.
Have you tried the Bourjois Colourband eye pencils yet? What were your thoughts? Let me know below!

Boohoo wishlist!

Hey guys! How are you all doing on the weary Wednesday? Boohoo is my absolute number one website for clothes! They are good quality, affordable, true to size, I'm rarely disappointed. They cater to different styles I love, to the basics. I think Boohoo is so on point lately! Here's a few things I have been eyeing up lately!

Belle Striped Shirt Dress
I see so many wonderful looks for this shirt dress! Wearing it with a blazer and knee high boots, or with leggings and comfortable ankle boots. I adore shirt dresses, they can be dressed up or kept casual. A versatile piece to add to my wardrobe!
Sophia Super Skinny High Rise With Braces

Seriously, how gorgeous are these jeans?! I've been on the lookout for the perfect pair of black, skinny, high waist jeans. Now that I finally parted with my beloved Criminal Damage jeans -sob-. Jeans just go with everything really. And the braces just make these jeans super cute, and they are detachable so they can be worn two different ways.
Petite Layla Premium Sequin Plunge Maxi Dress

Can I just say how much I love that Boohoo has an expansive Petite range for us 5 3'' and under?! When I imagine going to a wedding or similar, this is like a dress I had in mind for ages! I never thought I could pull off a maxi dress at 4 11''. This dress makes it seem all that more possible. It's seriously beautiful.
Alexandra Striped Oversized Long Sleeve Shirt

I have always loved Androgyny, even before I knew what it was. Even at a very young age. I have always mixed 'masculine' and 'feminine' clothes together. This gorgeous striped shirt will add an androgynous edge to any outfit. Tucking it into a black skater skirt or wearing it with tailored trousers would look wonderful with this shirt.
Elise Jumper Dress

I've wanted a jumper dress for a while now, and this is next on my list to order! A jumper dress is wonderful for layering and perfect for that weird in between weather where it's cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. This will be so handy to just throw on on those days, and looking great at the same time!
Petite Nancy Printed Flared Trousers

Again from the Boohoo Petite range, which makes it more flattering on my short legs, and ya girl loves flared trousers. They just look so comfortable and chic. They would be especially wonderful for the summer time. I would style this with a simple white t-shirt tucked inside, a statement necklace, a longline cardigan and a bowler hat!
And that is what I am currently loving (and what my debit card will be angry at me over) lately! I again have to say how much I love the Boohoo Petite range. It's making my favourite styles much more wearable and there is so much variety! What shop do you think is on point lately? What is on your hitlist? Let me know below! Let's enable and justify each other's needs. ;)

Eastend Snob

Hey guys! How are you doing today? Today, I'll be talking about the infamous Eastend Snob Exaggerate lip liner from Rimmel! Ever since its release, I have been bombarded with tweets about how wonderful this lip liner is! Ya girl has been hard pressed trying to hunt Eastend Snob down- anytime I went to look for it, it was always sold out. I finally found it last week, and I snapped it up straight away! I've heard it is one of the best drugstore lip liners to achieve that Kylie Jenner pout. I have my reservations there, as her famous lips are more so thanks to fillers, and not a result of her make-up skills! It's also supposed to be a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk. So, let' get into what I thought of Eastend Snob!

Eastend Snob is that dusty pink-mauve shade that is so popular right now. I wear this lip liner on its own, or under some lip balm or gloss. Though I don't have a great collection of lip liners, it is without a doubt, the creamiest lip liner I have ever used, and it glides on so easily! There is a great colour payoff, because Eastend Snob is so pigmented. It looks really great on, but I think it would look even better if my skin was that bit more darker or if I was sallow. I love that this lip liner added a nice pout to my lips, it doesn't dry out my lips either, like so many lip liners do!

Eastend Snob lasts two to three hours on my lips, including when I'm eating and drinking. I love that this lip liner is retractable instead of a lip pencil, it makes it so easy to carry around in my bag and use as I please, without having the hassle of paring it. However, I find the stick a bit too thin and fragile, and a little bit fell off when I was applying it the other day. I love the curved shape of the lip liner, it makes it so easy to apply evenly.

Verdict? I loved Eastend Snob! The creaminess and shade is just wonderful! I'm wearing it so much lately! Any of the Rimmel Exaggerate lip liners cost €5.49 each and I give it 9/10.
Have you tried Eastend Snob or any of the Exaggerate lip liners from Rimmel yet? What were your thoughts? Let me know below!
